The Flow of Existence

4 Nov. – 15 Dec. 2017

Artists: S.A.Shariatpanahi

D’Angers gallery is happy to present “the flow of existence”, a solo exhibition of paintings of Iranian artist Seyed Asadolah Shariatpanahi (b. 1938). In this exhibition, 18 paintings from his recent work (technique: oil on canvas) are showcased.

Shariatpanahi studied painting at University of Tehran (faculty of Fine Arts). His teaching position at Organization of Education for Teachers and Center of Intellectual Training for Children and Teenagers led to the birth of a new generation of artists who now hold their own spectacular artistic positions. He had been teaching art paintings for decades in several high educational centers as invited lecturer.

Shariatpahi’s work has been the subject of several solo and group exhibitions. In 2015, his collection of painting was published in a book called “The Veil of Clarity”.

He has created a setting in order to be able to relay his ideas and reflections of the world around him without solid explicitness of realism, and with more freedom, too. He also likes the act of camouflage belonging to the traditional world, the curving and intertwining lines that hide within shapes and forms. In his works, concepts are neither conspicuous between lines and colors nor hidden in such a way that the observer is unable to detect their presence. With careful reading between the lines, the viewer could grasp the shapes and intentions the painter had in mind, and through the mixture of drawings and pictures hidden within colors and curves of the lines, one can reach a deeper understanding of his psychology. His paintings are not a recording of the events happened around him, but his reflection of them. He offers the audience his understanding of the events.

Exhibition will open to the public from 4 November to 15 December 2017 from 9 to 12 and from 18 to 22 every day (except Saturdays).
