Darestan

18 Jan. – 07 Feb. 2019

Artists: Sirvan Kanani

D’ANGERS gallery is delighted to present “Darestan”, a solo exhibition by Sirvan Kanani. The exhibition consists of 18 oil paintings on canvas.

The artworks of Sirvan Kanani are the result of researches and attempts for benefitting from the experiences of groups and schools such as Fauvism and Expressionism, so that the artist can use brightness, explicitness, and purity of the colors for his expression in the path of creating his mental space and arrange the fortified articulation of the colorful pieces of the scene in the integrated representation of totality of his inner feeling. A scene in two-dimensional flat infinity containing traced out figures and visual elements and emphatics that convert the criterion of the similarity of the work and reality to semantic interaction and connection of feelings and direct and shining expression of colors; the colors that are placed together not in descriptive historical role but in an application similar to constitutive word system of a text, and have formed an integrated and expressive structure.

Nature and human as visual elements of this series, affected by active forces of the scene, are generated by the pressure and attack of the powerful space around and are captive by an active surrounding order that realize a dynamic contrast and turbulence as the main indicator of the artworks of this artist in a bilinear interaction (wrote by Farshid Rahimi)

His works have been subject of several solo and group exhibitions in Iran and abroad.

The opening ceremony of Sirvan Kanani’s painting exhibition is going to be held on Friday 18 Jan., 2019 at 5 pm, together with artist talk. The exhibition will be open to public until 7 Feb. 2019 (every day from 5 pm to 10 pm; except Saturdays).
