Solo Painting Exhibition
07 Dec. – 24 Dec. 2018
Artists: Aneh Mohammad Tatari
D’Angers gallery is pleased to present a solo paintings exhibition of Aneh Mohammad Tatari.
In this exhibition 16 paintings with technique of mixed media, batik and collage on canvas are showcased, which all are created very recently by artist and have not been shown earlier.
Aneh Mohammed was born in 1956 in Turkmen Sahra in the north-eastern steppes of Iran. He has received his MA in painting from Azad University in Tehran. His paintings reflect the tribal, mystical and colourful world of his homeland.
‘His canvases are a happy mélange of styles, reminiscent of Iranian miniatures, his Central Asian roots, and Fauviste images. Figurative scenes – of domestic life, nomad encampments or mystical figures – verge on the abstract, often framed by indecipherable phrases and prayers. The warm red and orange colours reflect the landscape around him, while recurrent motifs are inspired by local traditions, such as the square – which represents the four sacred elements of earth, water, fire and air – and the “tchacho” silk square worn at weddings and funerals’ Leighton House Museum, London wrote.
Tatari is currently teaching Fine Art at the University of Tehran, and his work can be seen in the British Museum and the Tehran Museum of Modern Art.
Exhibition will be opened to the public from 07December to 23 December 2019 from 17 to 22 every day (except Saturdays).
